120 Ausstellung 3D – Schrift am Bau

Type: Exposition design Client and place: Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, Toni-Areal Curator: Barbara Junod Grafic design: Weicher Umbruch Year: 2018

Three-dimensional typefaces are omnipresent and exceptionally diverse: from festive decorations to shop displays, from art installations to typefaces on buildings and in public space. Such typefaces are especially popular because of their haptic presence, as they counterbalance the letters scuttling across shimmering screens. The exhibition focuses on 3D letterings on buildings, which take into account architectural features and their surroundings, thus affording buildings a fitting identity. Thus, it leaves aside interchangeable branding facades. Using innovative national and international examples from the last 20 years, the exhibition explores the task and design of 3D typefaces, which are often part of a comprehensive communication system.

The opening of the exposition taked place on december 6th at 19.00 Uhr and the exposition was open until april 14th 2019. Our office has realised the exposition design together with the curators of the museum. Link to the Website of the Museum für Gestaltung.
